Khel Mahotsav – 2026 was successfully conducted by Guru Nanak Institutions and Guru Nanak University with enthusiastic participation from faculty members, staff, and students.
The grand sporting event was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak University and Managing Director of Guru Nanak Institutions, Dr. H. S. Saini, in the august presence of Directors, Principals, Deans, and Heads of Departments. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saini emphasized the importance of sports in fostering discipline, leadership, teamwork, and holistic development among students.
The Mahotsav was organized under the dynamic leadership of Dr. P. Parthasaradhy, Director – Planning and Student Welfare, who ensured meticulous planning and seamless execution of the event. Dr. Madeeha Khanam, Assistant Professor , University Institute of Emerging Technologies (UIEMT) recently attended One Week Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) organised by Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, UGC at Central University of Hyderabad.
She found the program incredibly insightful, gaining valuable insights into how Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) can collaborate with rural communities to drive national growth. The FDP covered CBPR principles, immersive workshops, and field experiences, helping her understand the importance of building partnerships and co-creating knowledge. The sessions were enriching, and she's confident the learning will enable her to contribute more effectively to community-engaged research and outreach initiatives.
Guru Nanak University celebrated the auspicious harvest festival of Pongal with great joy, tradition, and cultural pride. The campus was filled with festive spirit as faculty members, students, and staff came together to honor nature, agriculture, and the hard work of farmers.
The celebration highlighted the traditional Pongal preparation, symbolizing gratitude to the Sun God for prosperity and abundance. Beautiful kolam (rangoli) designs, vibrant ethnic attire, and traditional music added color and charm to the event. Cultural performances, including folk dances and songs, showcased the richness of Tamil culture and created a lively, cheerful atmosphere.

Educational & Excursion trip to Wondrela (WonderLab)
The Department of Biotechnology, University Institute of Emerging Technologies (UIEMT), Guru Nanak University, successfully organized an Educational Excursion and ExcursionTrip to Wondrela (Wonderlab) for B.Tech (Biotechnology) 1st Year students on 10th January at Wonderla Amusement Park, Ravirayala, Hyderabad.
The visit was thoughtfully designed to provide students with experiential learning by integrating education with recreation. Through this visit, students gained practical insights into the laws of physics, water management systems, safety engineering, and energy utilization, while also experiencing an innovative industrial environment. The program significantly contributed to students’ team bonding, stress relief, and overall personality development.
The Department sincerely thanks the Wonderla WonderLab team for their excellent coordination, informative demonstrations, and for providing Certificates of Industrial Training to all participating students, making the visit academically enriching and memorable.

The GNU NextGen Summit 2026, hosted by Guru Nanak University, was successfully concluded on January 10, 2026, at Vivanta Begumpet.
