Guru Nanak Institutions—comprising Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus (GNITC), Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT), and Guru Nanak University (GNU), established under the aegis of the Guru Nanak Educational Society near Ibrahimpatnam—celebrated their 25th Silver Jubilee with great grandeur and enthusiasm. On this significant occasion, a new institutional logo was officially unveiled, marking a milestone in their journey of academic excellence.
Celebrating 25 successful years in the field of education, the management and guests paid heartfelt tributes to the beloved Chairman and visionary, Late Sardar Tavinder Singh Kohli. Speakers fondly recalled his dedication, foresight, and service-oriented leadership, which laid a strong foundation for the institutions and enabled thousands of students to pursue quality education. In his memory, the management announced the institution of annual awards for meritorious students, a gesture widely appreciated by the dignitaries present.
The event was graced by distinguished guests including Mr. Sanket (Global Head – People Operations, AutoRABIT), Dr. Dev Vrat Singh (Former Principal Scientist, Indian Council of Agricultural Research), and Dr. Ravi Dasari (President & Group Head – HR, Jasper Industries Pvt. Ltd.). They appreciated the institutions' contribution to higher education and encouraged students to develop a research-oriented mindset from the early stages of their academic journey.
Sardar G.S. Kohli, Chancellor of Guru Nanak University and Vice Chairman of Guru Nanak Institutions, lauded the achievements of students and faculty. Highlighting the remarkable placement record, he stated that 1,689 job offers were secured through 234 campus drives. He congratulated the placed students and appreciated the Placement Department for their dedicated efforts. He further noted that reputed companies such as Mu Sigma, Cognizant, TCS, HCLTech, Infosys, Deloitte, Lumen Technologies, LTIMindtree, Crowe LLP, RealPage, CDK Global, Sutherland, MAQ Software, Ronsch Polymers, and Alembic Pharma participated in the recruitment drives.
Dr. H.S. Saini, Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak University and Managing Director of Guru Nanak Institutions, in his address emphasized the importance of staying aligned with emerging technologies, innovation, and future-focused learning. He encouraged students to utilize their intellectual potential to contribute to new innovations and assured full institutional support. He also urged faculty members to actively mentor and guide students, inspiring them to serve society responsibly.
Annual reports of the institutions were presented by Dr. Kalairasan (Rector, GNU), Dr. S. Srinath Reddy (Director, GNITC), and Dr. B. The University Institute of Emerging Technologies (UIEMT), Guru Nanak University, Hyderabad, successfully concluded the Valedictory Ceremony of the 24-Hour Hackathon organized under the NASA Space Apps Challenge - 2026, in association with the IEEE Student Branch and Space Apps India.
The valedictory ceremony marked the culmination of an intense and innovative 24-hour journey, during which participants demonstrated exceptional creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. A total of 10 teams were shortlisted after rigorous evaluation, out of which 5 teams were declared as winners based on their outstanding performance and innovative solutions.
All participating teams showcased remarkable enthusiasm and came up with novel and impactful ideas, reflecting their technical skills, creativity, and commitment to addressing real-world challenges aligned with global themes.
The ceremony was graced by the esteemed Director and faculty members. The winners were felicitated, and all participants were appreciated for their dedication and active involvement throughout the hackathon.

IntelliHackX 2026: Intellipaat Hosts 24-Hour Hackathon at University Institute of Emerging Technologies , Hyderabad
Intellipaat successfully hosted “IntelliHackX 2026 – Hyderabad Edition,” a 24-hour hackathon for B.Tech CSE (AI & ML) for Intellipaat students at the University Institute of Emerging Technologies, Guru Nanak University (GNU), on March 30–31. The event was designed to foster innovation, provide hands-on learning experiences, and build industry-relevant skills.
The hackathon brought together 121 students organized into 25 teams. Participants developed solutions across key domains, including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Web Development, and Automation. A defining feature of the event was its emphasis on execution—students transformed initial ideas into fully functional working prototypes within 24 hours, showcasing their ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges.
Projects were evaluated by a distinguished jury comprising Mr. Shubham Lal , Lead Software Developer at Microsoft; Hemant Sharma, Vice President at Intellipaat; and other industry experts.
The event was graced by Dr. H. S. Saini, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor; Dr. Kalaiarasan, Rector; and Dr. Harish Kundra, Director of the institute. In his keynote address, hon'ble Vice Chancellor emphasized the growing importance of critical thinking and problem-solving, encouraging students to prioritize innovation and practical application in preparation for their future careers.
A cash prize of ₹30,000 was awarded to the winning team, along with certificates and trophies for other deserving participants.

The IEEE Student Branch of the university organized a workshop on “Cyber Security and Its Real-World Applications” on 11 March at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Auditorium in collaboration with EC-Council.
The session was delivered by Mr. Vikram Goud and Mr. Karteekh from EC-Council, who shared valuable insights on the importance of cyber security in the digital era and the various cyber threats faced today. The speakers explained how cyber attacks occur and demonstrated some of the tools and techniques that hackers may use to compromise systems, helping students understand the importance of strong cybersecurity practices and preventive measures.
The speakers also discussed career opportunities in the field of cyber security, highlighting various job roles, required skills, and globally recognized certifications for students interested in building a career in this rapidly growing domain. The session witnessed active participation and interaction from students.

The FDP covered CBPR principles, immersive workshops, and field experiences, helping her understand the importance of building partnerships and co-creating knowledge. The celebration highlighted the traditional Pongal preparation, symbolizing gratitude to the Sun God for prosperity and abundance. Beautiful kolam (rangoli) designs, vibrant ethnic attire, and traditional music added color and charm to the event. Cultural performances, including folk dances and songs, showcased the richness of Tamil culture and created a lively, cheerful atmosphere.
The Pongal celebration reflected the values of gratitude, unity, and cultural harmony, bringing the entire Guru Nanak University family closer together and creating cherished memories.
Guru Nanak University celebrated the vibrant festival of Lohri with great enthusiasm, joy, and cultural spirit. The campus came alive with festive energy as faculty members and families gathered together to mark the harvest festival that symbolizes prosperity, happiness, and togetherness.
The celebration featured a traditional Lohri bonfire, around which everyone joined in cheerful moments of unity and gratitude. Educational & Excursion trip to Wondrela (WonderLab)
The Department of Biotechnology, University Institute of Emerging Technologies (UIEMT), Guru Nanak University, successfully organized an Educational Excursion and ExcursionTrip to Wondrela (Wonderlab) for B.Tech (Biotechnology) 1st Year students on 10th January at Wonderla Amusement Park, Ravirayala, Hyderabad.
The visit was thoughtfully designed to provide students with experiential learning by integrating education with recreation. Through this visit, students gained practical insights into the laws of physics, water management systems, safety engineering, and energy utilization, while also experiencing an innovative industrial environment. The program significantly contributed to students’ team bonding, stress relief, and overall personality development.
The Department sincerely thanks the Wonderla WonderLab team for their excellent coordination, informative demonstrations, and for providing Certificates of Industrial Training to all participating students, making the visit academically enriching and memorable.
