Freshers’ day celebration is an eagerly awaited event that marks the beginning of the academic year. It is a day filled with excitement, joy, and fun activities that enable new students to get acquainted with the college culture. Guru Nanak University welcomed its young buds with a grand festive gathering held on 15th April 2023. The Freshers’ Day was eventful with music, dance, tableau, drama, and grand banquet. The program was inaugurated by hon’ble Dr Karunakaran, Principal of Panineeya Institute of Dental Sciences and Research Centre, Hyderabad and hon’ble Dr. H.S Saini, Vice Chancellor of the university. Registrar and all the Directors/ Deans of the university were also present on the occasion.
National Science Day was organized at Guru Nanak University (GNU) by the students on 28th February 2023 under the encouragement and support of the Chancellor of Guru Nanak University, Sardar Gagandeep Singh Kohli, and Vice Chancellor Dr. H. S. Saini. The event started at 10:30 AM at the auditorium of Guru Nanak University. Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Student Coordinator, Dr. Sanjeev Shrivastava, Director of the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), and many other faculties and students of GNU gave active organizational support for this event.
The program was presided over by Chief Guests Dr. Kamalakar Arakala, President of Shapiro Foundation, and Dr. Srinivasulu Tadisetty, Registrar of the Guru Nanak University, Hyderabad.
The event began at 10:30 AM with an inaugural lecture by Dr. H. S. Saini, Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak University. His speech mainly focussed on the importance of dedicated hard work towards studies and innovations while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Following this, Dr. Srinivasulu Tadisetty, Registrar of Guru Nanak University, delivered a talk on the life and works of Dr. C. V. Raman, Nobel Laureate in Physics. Then, Dr. Kamalakar Arakala gave a lecture on the coming of age of research and innovation in India since independence, and he inspired many young faculty members and students.
One day workshop was conducted on the 18th of February, 2023, for all the faculties and staff members of Guru Nanak University on "STRESS MANAGEMENT & ENERGIZING TECHNIQUES" with the main objective of preserving both the physical and mental health of the participants. The Department of Physical Education of the university organized the workshop.
The program was the initiative of our honourable Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak University, and Managing Director, Guru Nanak Institutions, Dr. H. S Saini.
The group's worthy Advisor (Research and Development), Dr. M.P.S Ishar, our worthy Registrar, Dr. Srinivasulu Tadisetty, Directors, Deans, Associate Deans, and HODs also took part in this workshop.
During the workshop, Dr.Sravani explained the importance of Yoga Mudras in day-to-day life to prevent Occupational Disorders, ignoring practices for physical well-being, Surya Namaskar for immunity boosting, relaxation techniques for self-management of excessive tension, and Pranayamas (Breathing practices) to combat stress in daily life.
A one day trip is organized to Wonderla Amusement Park on 4th February , 2023 . Wonderla Amusement Park is located at Ravirala in Outer Ring Road , Hyderabad. It is one of the largest and safest parks spread over 50 acres offering 43 attractions.
150 students of first year and 10 faculty members of the university visited the place . Overall it was an excellent and memorable experience for the students of the university .
Dr M P S Ishar, Advisor (Research and Development) of Guru Nanak University delivered a talk on " Research & Research Methodology '' on 4th February , 2023.120 doctoral faculty members from Guru Nanak University , Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus and Guru Nanak Institute of Technology attended the program.
Dr. Ishar discussed the various research methodologies and research methods that are commonly used by researchers in the field of Science and Technology. The session starts off by providing a comprehensive introduction to research. Then the research methodologies and research methods particularly used in Science and Technology were discussed.

Republic Day is celebrated every year to commemorate the date and moment when the constitution of India came into effect. India’s heart swells with pride and patriotism on this day. Guru Nanak University observed the 74th Republic Day by raising the Indian flag and informing students about the Indian Constitution. Our university is proud to celebrate this day by honoring the spirit of freedom and unity.
It aimed to create awareness among the students about when India's constitution came into force and to instil patriotism in the students. An inspiring speech on the significance of the Republic Day was delivered by Prof. Srinivasulu Tadisetty, Registrar of the university. Some interesting facts, based on the Republic Day, were shared by the students of the university. Deans, faculty members and students of the university were present on the occasion.
