Hostels are designed to provide a confirmable, safe, inclusive and secure living even as they provide opportunities to form long lasting friendships and ease the transition from home to university. GNU has well-functioning hostels that provide twin-sharing non-AC rooms and AC accommodations for students.
Presently, GNU is providing a hostel facility to over 5000 male and female students within the campus with all the modern facilities like free Wi-fi, water coolers, geysers, common room, television and laundry etc. Dining/Mess facilities are available in all the hostels. A separate hostel facility is available for Non-Residents of India (NRI) students.
GNU hostels not only feature a welcoming ambience that makes students feel at ease but also provide a conducive learning environment where students feel mentally, physically, psychologically, socially, and culturally secure. The hostels also have amenities that allow students to participate in various extracurricular and co-curricular activities while staying on campus.
These hostels are positioned in close vicinity of the academic blocks to allow students to be closer to their study/research departments and are surrounded by lush flora and are located in pollution-free zone.

The mess hall is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and serves a variety of Vegetarian, Non-Vegetarian, North-Indian, and South-Indian cuisines in accordance with the nutritional and gastronomically balanced meal plan, with a different menu for each day of the week. Breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner are served four times daily. Our team is committed to keeping the mess hall clean and follows a system that assures high hygienic standards during meal preparation.
Hostel review meetings are conducted once in 30 days by the hostel administrators to address students’ queries and requirements, and to keep them updated on upgradation of services and events. Students are also given the privilege to give suggestions to improve the hostel facilities.
A team of Chief Warden and Deputy Chief Wardens are dedicated to the hostel administration, which takes care of all affairs of the hostels. Biometric attendance is taken every night in the individual hostel blocks to ensure the safety of the students.
