Program Details

The Ph.D. programme in Computer Science and Engineering provides students with the knowledge, abilities, and mindset necessary to do world-class computer science research. Doctoral students are expected to publish their research in prestigious international journals and conferences in their field. The institute’s main focus is on research leading to M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. Students from all throughout the country, as well as some international students, attend these programmes.

The research programmes contain a limited amount of academic work, which is primarily designed to equip students to do research and have enough breadth in the subject area. The focus is mostly on research leading to a thesis. Understanding, evaluating, and refining concepts, mathematical rigour, problem formulation, literature review, implementation (programming), and performance evaluation are all part of this process. During their first year of study, students usually choose their research topic and faculty advisor. Finishing course work (to build research foundation and breadth), thesis proposal defence, and thesis defence are the next steps. The student works on the thesis after completing the criteria and having their thesis proposal accepted, and a successful defence leads to the degree.

Career Prospects

The job profiles after the course Ph.D CSE are Computer Scientist, Computer System Engineer, Computer Science Professor, Computer Network Architect, Research and development professional, Security Architect, Computer Systems Administrator, Data Modeler etc.
