The Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences is one of the oldest academic disciplines which has made significant contributions to our understanding of the numerous physical phenomena around us. The advances and understanding of this field have been translated into new technologies and new ideas.
The Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences at GNU is engaged in innovative teaching, practice and cutting-edge research. The faculty aims to provide students with a broad foundation in fundamental principles at the same time, training them to apply this knowledge to real-life complex systems. The unique undergraduate curriculum at the University gives students the flexibility to choose multiple electives across the departments. It provides them with the opportunity to not only discover their academic passion but also enhance their engagement in the learning process through the individualization of their programs of study. It has state-of-the-art laboratories with all latest and sophisticated equipment needed to help the students and to have an experimental insight into the subject as prescribed by the syllabus and a resource-rich library.

The Faculty of Basic & Applied Sciences offers undergraduate programmes leading to B.Sc. (Hons) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences, Event Management and Real Estate Management.
These courses aim to provide knowledge and necessary skills to be an efficient and effective workforce to work in Government / Semi-Government / Private and Public Sector and also to assume administrative positions.
