Discipline and Anti Ragging Cell

The duty of the Discipline and Anti Ragging Committee to ensure compliance with the provisions of UGC/AICTE Regulations on curbing the Menace and Indiscipline behavior in the campus as well as to monitor and oversee the performance of the Disciplinary Squad in the prevention of in-disciplinary activity in the institutions.

With a view to pursue the prevalence of a healthy environment by regulating discipline among the students in the campus and to develop machinery to regulate the behavior of students it is considered necessary to constitute Students Disciplinary Committee.

Accordingly, Students Disciplinary Committee is constituted to take cognizance of indiscipline and unruly behavior of students both in the University and in the Hostel by inflicting the penalties commensurate with the acts of misdemeanor by the students.

Ragging is a criminal offence as per the Supreme Court verdict and an offence under penal code , which define ragging as:

Ragging is now defined as an act that violates or is perceived to violate an individual student’s dignity. Following Supreme Court orders, a National Anti-Ragging Helpline was launched by the Indian government. … Ragging in India commonly involves serious abuses and clear violations of human rights.

“Ragging in all its forms is totally banned in this institution including in its departments, constituent units, all its premises (academic, residential, sports, , cafeteria  located within the campus. Strict action including but not limited to criminal proceeding and/or cancellation of admission against those found guilty of ragging and/or of abetting ragging would lie on the perpetrator and not on the victim. An offence of Ragging may be charged either on a written complaint by the affected or on independent finding of the Anti-Ragging Squad.

RAGGING IS TOTALLY PROHIBITED IN AND OUTSIDE THE INSTITUTE AND ANYONE FOUND GUILTY OF RAGGING AND/OR ABATING RAGGING WHETHER ACTIVELY OR PASSIVELY IS LIABLE TO BE PUNISHED IN ACCORDANCE WITH “UGC REGULATIONS ON CURBING THE MENACE OF RAGGING IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION 2009” AS WELL AS ANY OTHER PROVISION OF ANY PENAL LAW FOR THE TIME BEING IN FORCE.EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION 2009” AS WELL AS ANY OTHER PROVISION OF ANY PENAL LAW FOR THE TIME BEING IN FORCE.
