Guru Nanak University offers a four-year professional degree programme in Electronics & Communication Engineering. Electronic and communication engineering is concerned with the application of fundamental concepts from mathematics, physics, and engineering to the subject of electronics and communication engineering. It enhances the capacity to understand complicated engineering problems, as well as find and design viable solutions. Electronic devices and circuits, signals and signal analysis, digital systems design, electromagnetic theory, digital signal processing, microprocessors and microcontrollers, electronic circuits, VLSI design, digital communication, analogue communication, control engineering, and microwave engineering are all covered in the curriculum. While laying a firm foundation in the fundamentals, students are also exposed to evolving industry trends and are moulded into future quality experts. Students can also pick specialist electives in fields including embedded systems, wireless communication, satellite communication, biomedical signal processing, VLSI fabrication technology, voice processing, and optical communication to focus on their areas of interest. Students will be able to design, implement, and assess Electronics and Communication systems for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental concerns, as well as conduct investigations, analyse, and interpret data by the end of the course. Students will be able to apply current strategies, skills, and modern tools to address local and global concerns in society in order to achieve sustainable development in changing contexts.
Communication and electronics Engineers can operate as Communications Engineers, Technical Directors, Network Planning Engineers, Desktop Support Engineers, Field Test Engineers, Electronics Device and Development Engineers, and Service Engineers, among other positions.
