B.Sc (Optometry)

Program Details: 

A bachelor’s degree in optometry gives comprehensive training and medical knowledge of the human eye. This course will not only teach the principles of the human eye, but it will also teach how to operate various types of medical equipment that every optometry student and practitioner should be familiar with. General physiology and ocular physiology, hospital procedures, low vision aids, geometrical optics, nutrition, and other courses are covered in the BSc Optometry degree programme. After graduating, students can gain experience in optometric practises, clinical optometry, contact lenses, paediatric optometry, and binocular vision eye illnesses and treatments through hands-on training and regular field visits. Students will learn how to participate in industrial safety programmes and cooperate with road safety organisations, and they will be able to pursue their own profession or serve in government or privately controlled organisations to contribute to society’s welfare.

There are many job opportunities for BSc Optometry graduates. The students become eligible enough to get job opportunities in various private and public sectors in relevant sectors. They can find jobs in lens manufacturing units, optician showrooms, multinational companies dealing with eye care products, etc.. 10+2 examination in Science Stream with Physics, Chemistry & Biology as compulsory subjects with at least 50% marks from a recognized board
